Cocktails. Chaos. Chemistry.

Cocktails. Chaos. Chemistry.

A quick observation.

I apparently cannot write a “simple” tropical novella.

What started as a fun little holiday story somehow turned into:

🍹 cocktails
🗺️ a scavenger hunt
💻 missing money
🔥 forced proximity
😏 sarcasm as a love language

…and a growing suspicion that inviting Phoenix Shield operatives to a charity event may have been a mistake.

So today, I finally get to share the cover for the next Storm Series world novella:

MARGARITAS & MISCHIEF
Coming May 24

Callie Forde came to the island expecting sunshine, chaos, and maybe a few margaritas.

She didn’t expect Elias Vega.

Or sabotage.

Or a scavenger hunt that starts uncovering secrets someone desperately wants buried.

This is a standalone holiday novella set in the Storm Series world, featuring:

  • witty banter
  • forced proximity
  • found family energy
  • Phoenix Shield cameos
  • and one very dangerous weekend in paradise

The ebook will release first on Amazon and my website on May 24. (And no — this one will not be in Kindle Unlimited.)

I’ve had an absurd amount of fun writing this story, and I can’t wait to throw everyone into the scavenger hunt with Callie and Elias.

More soon.

So… about that storm. And what comes next

So… about that storm. And what comes next

Something interesting came up.

Apparently finishing a trilogy does not mean I’m done with these people.

Rude, honestly.

Because now that the Storm Series is complete…
I’m not ready to leave Mimosa Cay.

If you’ve already started Storm Surge (or stayed up far too late reading it), you know this wasn’t just about stopping a villain.

It was about:

  • Found family
  • Choosing love anyway
  • And learning that control isn’t the same thing as safety

(Yes, I’m looking at you, Zach.)

👉 [Start or finish Storm Surge here]

But here’s the thing:
Just because the trilogy is complete…
Doesn’t mean the world is.

There are still stories on this island.

And some of them are already on the way:

🌴 A scavenger hunt weekend that goes slightly off the rails
🎭 A masquerade with secrets hiding behind every mask
🎄 A Christmas gala where nothing goes according to plan

(Do you see a pattern? Because I do.)

Also… one more thing.

If you missed it yesterday:
I shared an exclusive bonus scene.

Nick Ivory—strategic, controlled, emotionally repressed Nick—
deciding to propose.

Yes. It’s exactly what you think it is.

👉 [Read Nick’s proposal]

So if you’re wondering what’s next:

  • More stories.
  • More chaos.
  • Same island.

And possibly fewer safe decisions.

We’ll see how that plays out.

The storm just made landfall

The storm just made landfall

A quick observation.

Releasing one book is stressful.

Releasing a trilogy? Apparently my personality is now “runs on caffeine and questionable life choices.”

But… we made it.

Storm Surge is officially LIVE.

Which means:

  • The trilogy is complete
  • The chaos is contained (mostly)
  • And yes… everyone survives (emotionally questionable, but still standing). Well, everyone we want to survive survives…

If you’ve been with me since the beginning—watching Nick brood, David hack everything in sight, and Zach pretend he doesn’t have feelings—this is the moment.

The storm doesn’t just hit.

It finishes.

👉 [Grab Storm Surge here]

What you can expect in this one:

✔ Forced proximity (with weapons nearby, obviously)
✔ A heroine who absolutely refuses to stay safe
✔ A hero who realizes—too late—that she was never the liability
✔ A storm that escalates everything
✔ And a final confrontation that… does not go the way the villain planned

Also, small detail:

The entire trilogy now exists.

Which means you can binge:
– Storm Warning
– Storm Front
– Storm Surge

Like a responsible adult.

Or stay up until 3am making questionable decisions.

I support both.

And because I believe in rewards for excellent life choices:

I dropped something extra.

A bonus scene that happens between Books 2 and 3…

💍 Nick’s proposal to Kate
(Yes, that moment.)

👉 [Read the exclusive bonus scene]

More soon.
(Jk. I’m going to sleep first.)

It’s time. Storm Surge is coming.

It’s time. Storm Surge is coming.

A quick observation.

Recipes are a suggestion at best.

You follow them diligently until the point where you’re standing in front of the oven, squinting through the glass, trying to decide if something is done… or about to go very, very wrong.

There’s a point in every book where it stops feeling like a draft—and starts feeling inevitable.

That’s where I am with Storm Surge.

The edits are tightening. Scenes are shifting. The pressure is building in all the right places.

And at some point, you stop adjusting—and you let it land.

So here it is:

Storm Surge releases April 30.

This one goes deeper.

Higher stakes.
More pressure.
And nothing stays contained.

If you’ve been following the series, you already know what’s been building.

If you haven’t… this is where everything comes to a head.

If you want a glimpse of what’s coming—
I’ve put together a short sample. Just enough to show where things start to shift.

More soon,

So… where did April Fool’s even come from?

So… where did April Fool’s even come from?

A quick observation

Now that we’ve all survived April Fool’s Day…

I had a question.

Who started this?

There are a few theories, but one of my favorites goes back to 16th century France—when the calendar shifted and some people didn’t get the memo. They kept celebrating the new year in spring… and everyone else decided the appropriate response was to mock them.

Naturally.

And honestly? Not much has changed.

We still love a good misdirect.
A well-timed reveal.
That moment where what you thought was true… isn’t.

(It’s probably why suspense works so well.)

Which means, yes—April Fool’s is basically built on the same mechanics as a good story.

Set the expectation.
Twist it.
Watch the reaction.

Anyway… speaking of stories that might keep you guessing…

👉 If you’re new, Storm Warning is where it all begins
👉 Storm Front raises the stakes…
👉 And Storm Surge is coming very soon. (Zach doesn’t do “calm.”)

No tricks this time. Just good books.

More soon,

Let’s circle back to… absolutely nothing

Let’s circle back to… absolutely nothing

A quick observation.

I wanted to take a moment to touch base and share a few thoughts that have been on my mind as we move forward into this next season.

At the end of the day, it’s really about showing up as your authentic self and trusting the process. Now more than ever, we’re being called to think outside the box, lean into new opportunities, and really level up in ways that feel aligned.

Because here’s the thing: everything happens for a reason.

Even when it feels like things are a bit all over the place, it’s important to remember that we’re all on a journey. And while that journey might not always make sense in the moment, it’s all part of something bigger. Something meaningful. Something… transformative.

So if you’re feeling stuck, or like things aren’t quite clicking, just know that you’re exactly where you need to be. Growth isn’t always linear. Sometimes you just have to trust that things are unfolding the way they’re meant to.

And honestly? That’s a game changer.

Anyway, I just wanted to drop into your inbox and remind you that you’re doing amazing, you’ve got this, and the best is yet to come.

We’ll circle back soon.

More soon.
-Jena
